2. TODAY is the last day to buy prom tickets. They are $30 each.  If you are taking a guest that does not go to MVHS, you must have a guest date form signed before you can purchase your prom tickets.  Tickets will be sold before/after school in Mrs. Hobgood and Mrs. Walter's rooms.  
3. After Prom tickets will be on sale Wed. 04/26, Thurs. 04/27 & Fri. 04/28 during lunch.
4. The MVHS Talent Show will be Friday, April 28th at 2:00pm.  Contact Mr. Baker no today to set up an audition.

CONGRATULATIONS:

• Varsity Golf beat Benjamin Bosse High School 176-253

Mt. Vernon Boys Golf bounced back against Bosse with a score of 176-253.  The Cats divided up with a Maroon and Gray team at WHCC.  Leading scores were as follows:  Max Hamrick (Medalist) 41, Mack Conyers 43, Logan Dutkiewicz 45, Brennan Austin 47, and Carlton Redman 48.  Mason Higginson led the Gray team with a score of 51.

• Coed Varsity Track Unified and Field finishes 1st place at Ev. North.  The Unified Track and Field team opened their season last night with a 1st place finish against Evansville North with a final score of 165 to 159.  Podium finishers at the event in each respective heat/flight included:  Long Jump - Ava Watters (1st); Nolan Deno (2nd), Shot Put - Nolan Deno (2nd); Jaycee Jarvis (3rd), 100m - Logan Steedman (1st); Maiya Jones (1st); Landon Deckard (1st); Drew Rapp (1st); Arlissa Sharber (2nd); Addison Dittmer (2nd); Jonathan Jarvis (2nd); Alana Bredemeir (2nd); Emily Jones (3rd), Molly Jones (3rd). 400m - Ava Watters (1st), Landon Deckard (2nd); Jaley Hamilton (2nd); Logan Steedman (3rd), 4x100 Relay - 1st Place - Nolan Deno, Logan Steedman, Jaley Hamilton, Maiya Jones    The Unified Cats are back in action next week @Boonville at 5:30pm.

TO THE STUDENTS: 

1. JUNIORS: Be watching for an email to vote on your 2024 Graduation Announcements. Voting will close today at 3pm
2. SENIORS: Reminder every Senior MUST order a new cap and gown if you are planning on participating in the graduation ceremony.  Place your order online at www.jostens.com or speak to Josten’s Rep today during lunch.
3. The Naval Academy is having a meeting at Memorial for all students that are interested in joining.The meeting will be held at Memorial in the Media Center on April 11th at 6pm.
4. April 29, 20223 - Prom at USI in Carter Hall from 8:00pm-11:00pm. Tickets will be sold 3 weeks prior to prom and tickets will be $30 each. Prom tickets will be sold April 11-21.  They are $30 each.  If you are taking a guest that does not go to MVHS, you must have a guest date form signed before you can purchase your prom tickets.  Tickets will be sold before after school in Mrs. Hobgood and Mrs. Walter's rooms.  The last day to purchase prom tickets is April 21.
5. All students who have applied for NHS membership should have received an email indicating the status of their application.  A response to this email IS required.  Any student who applied for NHS membership, and did NOT happen to receive a notification email, should email Mr. Bacon immediately.  There is a deadline for response by this Friday, April 7th.
6. Seniors in Key Club please check your email for a google form titled “Senior Recognition 2023”.  Please fill out the form to be recognized at the May Key Club Meeting.

The 'Cats totaled 16 hits in the outing, and were led by Kaylen Salee (3-4), Mallory Mason (3-3), Raycee Stallings (2-4), Peyton Rush (2-3), and Cora Bell (2-4). Kaylen, Cora, and Cherish Anderson had 2 RBI each. Kaylen was the winning pitcher, only allowing two runs and striking out nine in 4.1 innings. 

MV 9 Mater Dei 4 
Taylor Mason (2-3), Mallory Mason (2-4), & Cherish Anderson (2-3) led the team with multiple hits. Raycee Stallings racked up three RBIs! Kaylen Salee secured her third win on the mound,  pitching a complete 7-inning game and striking out eight.

1. The Naval Academy is having a meeting at Memorial for all students that are interested in joining.The meeting will be held at Memorial in the Media Center on April 11th at 6pm.
2. SENIORS:  We are about 3 weeks out from the FAFSA state filing deadline of April 15.  If you are even considering attending college anytime during the fall, spring, or summer semesters next year, please complete the FAFSA to put yourself in the best place possible financially.  Mrs. Rose is here Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and alternating Thursdays to get help, or reach out through text or email.  Spring break would be a great time to get it done.  It only takes about 1 hour!

CONGRATULATIONS:  The Lady 'Cats kicked off the 2023 season with a big win over South Spencer, 10 to 0 in six innings!  The Wildcats were led by Hannah West (2-2), Cora Bell (2-3), Taylor Mason (2-4), & Cherish Anderson (2-3). Cora and Taylor had two doubles each in the game and Hannah hit a solo HR in the bottom of the 5th! Cora also had 4 RBIs in the game. Kaylen Salee secured the win, only allowing one hit and striking out eight in four innings. Freshman Alaina Allyn closed out the final two innings. She allowed one hit and struck out two.  The girls are back in action tonight at Loogootee! Start time is 5:30 PM CST.

1. The Super Bowl Team defeated 5 schools to win the Memorial Invite with 91 points.   The English Squad finished 1st with a near-perfect score of 24 out of 25 points. Team members are Brenna Julian, Abbie Ries, and Emma Fisher. The Fine Arts Squad finished 1st with a tie breaking score of 20 points. Team members are Cora Bell, Kai Wallace, and Grace Tenbarge. The Math Squad finished 1st with a tie breaking score of 20 points. Team members are Carson Tucker, Rylan Paul, and Rossy Hollinger. The next competition will be the 2023 Super Bowl Area Competition at MVHS on April 18, at 5:30 pm.
2. The following students won awards last night at the opening of the 60th Annual High School Art Show at the Evansville Museum.   Lane Kraft - 1st in Graphic Design $100,                    Kendall Wasmer - 2nd in Photography $75, Lydia Deckard - 1st in Textiles $100,              Kiearra Krull - 2nd in Textiles $75, Kiearra Krull - $100 Merit Award by Timothy Weir and Claudia Congleton.  Finalists also selected for the exhibit from over 700 entries include: Abbigale Bazan - Painting, Kristian Kimrey - Drawing, Madisyn Moles - Drawing, Makayla Grantham - Ceramics, Frank Wurtz - Graphic Design,Kate Heckert - Graphic Design.  The High School Art Show is open to the public through April 16 at the Evansville Museum,
